What’s a synonym for versatile? Because it seems like we keep saying all our aluminum extrusions are versatile. So, let’s switch it up a little and talk about the most multifaceted, resourceful, and adaptable extrusion – aluminum angles!
The reason why aluminum angles are so versa… we mean, functional is because of its numerous uses and names. We already have a blog explaining the different names extrusions can go by – but if you just want a highlight, aluminum angles are also referred to as L-shaped aluminum channels, right-angle channels, or aluminum trim.
The other thing that makes angles adaptable is how they fit as an architectural extrusion and a structural extrusion.
What's the Industry?
The simple answer: a lot of them (if not all of them). The longer answer is that, because of angles multitude of uses, this aluminum extrusion works in bath and shower enclosures, displays and exhibits, millwork, woodwork, cabinetry, construction, and so many more industries.
Its simplicity is the key to its accessibility. There are only two main differences between our aluminum angles: the length of the legs (equal or unequal) and square or rounded inside corners.
Architectural aluminum angles, or the one with square inside corners, create a decorative flair with perfectly straight edges for tables, countertops, and numerous other architectural millwork pieces. Structural aluminum angles have rounded insides, giving this extrusion extra strength, making it best used for construction because of its durability and corrosion resistance.
What About that Finish?
The kind of finish matters more for architectural angles to ensure your project looks how you want it to. Need a matte finish? Then choose anodized. Need some a bit brighter or snazzier to match your aesthetic preferences? Go with a brite finish. And if you need something totally unique, Extrude-A-Trim can provide you with a powder coat finish.
Our structural angles are sold mostly in mill finish because their primary focus is on durability and longevity. However, they can be finished depending on job requirements.
As always, we can provide you with custom finishes if there isn’t something on our site that matches your desired specifications.
So Much for Versatility...
Twice! Only twice did we use the word versatile or any of its conjugated forms. (Technically we used it three times, but that’s only if you count the header above.) This was never supposed to be a lesson or highlight our vocabulary. Instead, it proved to be a fun way to highlight aluminum angles as the highly flexible, cross-functional profile they are. They span across industries and can be used for design or strength. They really are that versatile. (Ok, now four times.)
